Heat Pump (Air Source)
Up to $2,000/year
Must meet efficiency thresholds (SEER2 ≥ 15.2 for split systems, EER2 ≥ 11.7 for heating). Credit covers 30% of cost including installation, up to $2,000 annually.
Central Air Conditioner
Up to $600/year
Must meet ENERGY STAR Most Efficient tier requirements. Credit covers 30% of cost including installation, up to $600.
Natural Gas Furnace
Up to $600/year
Must have AFUE ≥ 97%. Credit covers 30% of cost up to $600.
Smart Thermostat
Up to $150/year
ENERGY STAR certified smart thermostats qualify. 30% of cost up to $150.
Home Energy Audit
Up to $150/year
A qualified home energy audit qualifies for 30% of cost up to $150. This can help identify the most impactful improvements.
Geothermal Heat Pump
30% of full cost
No dollar cap through 2032. Geothermal heat pump systems (ground-source) qualify for 30% of total cost including installation. Available through 2032.
Important: Tax credit eligibility depends on your individual tax situation, equipment installation date, and whether qualifying equipment is selected. These credits are not guaranteed to every homeowner. Consult a tax professional to confirm eligibility. Junior Collins HVAC can identify which equipment qualifies — it's part of how we prepare your quote.
